The "sign to get out" mixed with the "suck it up" societal attitude led to me physically injuring myself. About six years ago, I worked a seasonal, 4-month job that I so did not want to do. It wasn't all bad, several of the people, etc., but the following year, I got an email from the company asking if I wanted to work the upcoming season. I really wrestled with that, because I was still feeling anxious about money at the time. While I was there, one of the women gave me an extra coffee mug she had after she had previously noticed me searching for one in the kitchen area. I gratefully used it for the rest of the time I was there, but it had some advertising logo on it or something, and I have an aversion to mugs like that...very particular about my mugs. Even joke mugs get old after the first reading. One day while I was still wrestling with the decision and not feeling good, and still had this mug after so many months, I heard something outside and went to check on it with the mug absent-mindedly in hand. I never once used this mug in all those months, and can't remember why I was using it at the time. It was dark, I tripped over the edging of a lawn, fell and hit my face on one of those rectangular, concrete flower planters, and also got two huge scrapes down my legs during the tripping because I was wearing shorts. It's honestly a mystery to me why my skull wasn't cracked, although something has been out of whack with the cartilage in my nose ever since, no big deal. In following days, I looked like a battered woman, but my face did return to normal, and there was no scarring on my legs. And [of course] the mug from that job had been smashed to bits. After that, screw the money, You won't have to beat me up twice. It was such a liberating decision, and I felt so much relief. I thought about the whole thing for awhile, and arrived at the general new rule for myself, "I don't care what things look like on the surface, if it doesn't feel good, it isn't." Really leaning into this until it became a habit has served me well ever since.

Oh I loved this so much! At one point while sitting in the throne I was aware of the most beautiful emerald green colour coming upon me, & by the end of it my open palms resting on my legs were SO warm with energy. Thank you Tosha 🙏💖

‘Whatever is your wish, lead the way’. Coming out of the control zone and allowing something much much higher to lead the way. The reason why we struggle to surrender is because we want to control. The ego wants to do what it wants to do not allowing the divine to intervene. Sometimes it’s because we want life to look a certain way or are afraid of society judgements. Shame and control = no divine assistance

Great video Tosha. I have not really thought about this much, the idea that what you focus on with desire or attachment is what you worship. I was in a spiritual school many years ago and they talked about this but I never fully got it until watching this video. The idea that we all worship something or multiple things. Our attention is our worship. If we only worship things of this world, then we are worshipping things that die. If we worship the Divine then we are worshiping everlasting life. And the irony is that if we worship the Divine with all our love, we will be given everything we need to live fully in the physical world while we are embodied in it. As Carl Jung said, “who looks outside dreams, who looks inside awakes” ❤🥰
